Goals and objectives of the course
Postgraduate course in Physics is a gateway for the students interested in Physics, to enter the field of scientific research, Teaching and Industries as well. Hence, the objective of the course is;
To train the students rigorously through classroom lectures, tutorials and practicals through laboratory modules, for the all round development of the students willing to achieve them.
To train the students to adopt vocational skills, leadership qualities and to forge them into good human beings, apart from the curriculum.
To train the students to adopt innovative methods and to become creative entrepreneurs, so that they become the men and women for others.
Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Physics as optional/major/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Mathematics as major/optional /special/minor/subsidiary subject for at least two years and secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Physics / Mathematics.
