Department of Economics is one of the oldest departments established in 1882. The department offers Economics in BA, B.Sc, B.Com and BBA streams. Department of Economics is recognized under the UGC Scheme of College with Potential for Excellence. It facilitates students to understand public debate about economic policy, including taxation and government expenditure, trade and globalization, health and welfare. Students are also trained and deputed to participate in various inter collegiate events related to economics. The department organizes yearly workshops / seminars on current topics on economics.
