Admission Guidelines for Under Graduate Courses 2017-18

  1. Application forms will be available in the College Office from 15 April 2017 Anyone can collect an application form. Candidate need not be present in person to obtain an application form. Cost of Application: Rs 250.
  1. Application may be sent by post if a stamped self-addressed envelope is sent along with a DD for Rs. 300 in favour of “Principal, St Aloysius College”, payable in Mangalore, to “Principal, St Aloysius College, P B 720, Mangalore 575 003, India”.
  1. Application forms should be filled in, complete with regard to all the information asked for, in the candidate’s own
  2. The application should be registered in the College Office soon after the declaration of second PUC results of Karnataka Board and a receipt should be obtained. The registration fee is Rs.50. Applications received by post will be registered only if a postal order/DD of this amount payable to the Principal is enclosed.
  1. Admission process begins within a day or two once the Karnataka PUC results are announced. NRI students, students of other Boards or from other States with 65% marks in core subjects in their pre-board examinations may register their application form soon after the Karnataka PUC results are announced even if they do not have their final examination

 Admissions 2017-2018

Direct admissions*:

B Com:

  1. Only those who have studied Commerce and Accountancy in PUC/+2 are
  2. Boys who have scored 75% & above and Girls who have secured 80% & above in PUC/+2 are eligible for direct admission (i.e. they can have the interview immediately after registration of the application).
  3. Those who have 80% marks in the qualifying examinations may apply for B Com (Professional)

BBA:

  1. Those who have studied Commerce & Science at at PUC/+ 2 are
  2. Applicants who have scored 75% and above in PUC/+2 are eligible for direct admission.
  3. Those who have 70% may apply for BBA (Professional)

BCA:

1.    Those who have studied Science at PUC/+2 or Commerce at PUC/+2 with Mathematics/ Statistics/Business Maths/Computer Science as one of the subject are eligible.

Other Information
NRI and CBSE/ISE students who have scored above 65% in their pre-board exams may register their applications with a copy of their pre-board examinations marks card. They should not enter these marks in the application form.List of selected Applicants will be put up on the College Notice Board. Only Out- station students will be intimated by Post.

Internet copy of the Marks Card or a certified copy of the Marks Card by the Principal of the PU College where the Applicant studied last is necessary for registration and for the interview.

The candidate and at least one of the parents must be present for the interview with the Principal.

BBA Professional

5. B Sc (Bachelor of Science)

Eligibility*: A candidate for B. Sc. Degree Course shall have passed the Pre University Examination or equivalent 12 Standard Examination of any other Board having Physics Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects to take the options 1-6 and Chemistry, Botany and Zoology or Biology to take optional 7-14.

Biotechnology Finishing school (BTFS)
The Government of Karnataka has selected this College as a Centre for BT Finishing School. The College offers Two Post Graduate Diploma in Specialized Biotechnology- related job-oriented courses under BTFS .The domains are

Fermentation and Bioprocessing
Plant Tissue Culture and Micropropagation
Duration: Total duration: 12 months

  1. Course work: 6 months, which is carried out in the college
  2. Internship: 6 months, in the concerned Industry

Eligibility Criteria* 
Candidates must have a minimum of 50% in Masters degree from Universities of the state or any other University recognized as equivalent in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or any other life science related courses, B.E./B.Tech. – Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary, MBBS and BDS are also eligible to apply.

Candidates who have appeared for the M.Sc/B.E. final exams can also apply. Upon selection, a provisional degree certificate should be submitted to the respective colleges within two weeks of course commencement.

Admissions will be through an Online Entrance Test; Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test (KBAT), followed by an interview.
