The objective of the faith and service culture at St Aloysius College (Autonomous) is to inspire students to become leaders with a service-oriented mindset who in turn will be agents of change in forging a more just, humane, eco-friendly and gender-sensitive society.
Our aim is to prepare students who bring positive change in the world practice respect and empathy while seeking purpose through faith and service.
The motto of the college, “Lucet et Ardet” which means “shine to enkindle” has inspired countless students to become men and women for and with others and thus bring light and joy into the lives of people. It is for this reason that Jesuit education has become a touchstone for evolving new paradigms in higher education.
Our Jesuit pedagogy plays an integral role in our approach to faith and service. Our pedagogy calls us to work together, to be conscious of God's presence among us, to be sensitive to one another and to serve others, both on campus and in the world.
